Gadchiroli Oct. 3 (District Correspondent) Dhamma Chakra Pravartan initiated by Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar is the historic revolution in the world which demolished the walls of castes and created a society that valued knowledge and equality, said Dr. Prakash Rathod, noted Ambedkarite thinker.
He was speaking at the Dhamma Chakra Pravartan Din programme organized by Samyak Samaj Samiti and Vishakha Mahila Mandal on the grounds of Samyak Buddha Vihara here on Thursday.
Mr. Rohidas Raut, Advisor of the Samiti presided over the programme while Dr. Sarjanaditya Manohar, Ambedkarite litterateur, Prin. Rathod, Kawduji Undirwade of Samyak Senior citizens Association, Ms. Sumitra Raut, President and Manisha Warke, Secretary of Vishakha Mahila Mandal were prominently present.
Dr. Rathod further said Buddhism is a philosophy of human welfare which advices human beings to march ahead. Lord Buddha always preached the scientific values and modern thoughts. Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar carried forward this legacy rejecting the system of inequality and exploitation and gave the new invention of social change that has made the crores of people worth living.
Dr. Manohar said the revolution brought about by Dr. Ambedkar through Buddhism and Constitution has no parallel as it showed a new path of progress. Buddhism tells people to immerse the blind faith and evil traditions, it is progressive. The Dhamma revolution was not limited for the few people, it was aimed at the betterment of the entire human society and needs to be taken forward, he stated.
In his presidential speech Mr. Rohidas Raut underlined that the modern values like wisdom, dignity, change were brought about by the adoption of Buddhism that have helped the deprived classes a lot in transforming their lives into progress. This way of life needs to be strengthened further.
At the outset, Buddha Vandana was recited and Panchasheel flag was hoisted. Mr. Gautam Meshram made an introductory speech; Jagan Jambhulkar conducted the programme and Ms. Namita Waghade proposed the vote of thanks.
Mr. Tularam Raut, Pradeep Bhaisare, Manohar Walke, Bhagwan Bhaisare, Bharat Jmbhulkar, Deepak Walde and other members of Samyak Samaj Samiti and Vishkha Mahila Mandal took pains for the success of the programme. A large number of people attended the programme.
