Gadchiroli May 25 (District Correspondent) Village Rampur under Kadholi gram panchayat of Chamorshi taluka has been suffering from the outbreak of dengue disease for the last two three days. Till now a total of 13 patients suffering from dengue are undergoing treatment in the hospitals.
The names of the patients have been given as Wardhabai Dongre, Kamalabai Dongre, Laijabai Chandekar, Bhauji Chandekar, Monu Chandekar, Jayant Chandekar, Jyoti Chandekar, Arohi Durge, Maroti Khobragade, Umesh Dongre, Ananda Rao Dongre, Nirmalabai Dongre. They have been admitted to the Rural Hospital of Ashti and are undergoing treatment there while some of the patients have been shifted to District Hospital, Gadchiroli for further treatment.
The villagers started complaining of fever, head ache and on the check up they were found with dengue. The disease spread very soon upon which the health department was alerted.
On getting the information of the spread of dengue in the village, the team of health department reached Rampur village today for health check-up and started collecting blood samples. The cleaning of the village has also been started with the help of the villagers.
Dr. Praful Hulke, Taluka Health Officer, Chamorshi told this correspondent that the health officials have already visited the village and started necessary activities like checking the suspected patients and admitting them to the hospitals, cleaning the water sources like coolers, drainages etc. The health team, equipped with necessary instruments and kits are monitoring the situation. The water samples have been sent to the laboratory for examination.
The sudden spread of dengue was caused due to change in weather and rainfall and also presence of some dengue patients in the village, he added. The spraying of anti-mosquito liquid and fogging has also been started in the village as a precautionary measure to avoid the further spread of dengue, Dr. Hulke told.
