D. K. Sakhre selected for ‘Adarsh Sangharsh Yoddha’ award.

Mangalvedha July 20 (Our Correspondent) The 2025 “Adarsh Sangharsh Yoddha” award, given on the birth anniversary of the great writer Dr. Annabhau Sathe, has been announced to D. K. Sakhre, founder president of Dalit Atyachar Viroshi Samiti and editor of Dainik Achuk Nidan.

Mr. Sakhre will be presented with this award at a grand ceremony on August 1 next in Mangalvedha. The Sahitya Ratna Dr. Annabhau Sathe Public Jayanti Utsav Mandal in Mangalvedha has announced this award to him.

For more than four decades, Sakhre has been a pioneer in social work and active in the movement since his student days. He is known for fighting for the victims of injustice. He has been quite active in the fight to rename Marathwada University after Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar, Riddles in Hinduism, implementation of the Mandal Commission etc.

He is the first activist to demand Bharat Ratna to Chhatrapati Shahu Maharaj and Annabhau Sathe posthumously.

Speaking to the media after the award was announced, he said that the award announced to me will give new energy to all of us working at the ground level.

Mr. Sakhre has thanked the Board office bearers Khandu Khandare, Malhari Kamble, Akash Damu Aaveke, Ankush (Anna) Aaveke, Nagesh Satyavan Aaveke for this award.
