Solapur Oct. 28 (Special Correspondent) Founder President of Dalit Atyachar Kriti Samiti D. K. Sakhre has demanded that Union Ministers Nitin Gadkari and Devendra Fadnavis should publicly apologize to all Ambedkarite people for the recent case of desecration and vandalization of the premises of Babasaheb Ambedkar statue in Nagpur.
In a statement, Mr. Sakhre has said that the incident that took place in Nagpur’s Sanvidhan Square on 25th October is very disgusting and it has hurt the sentiments of Ambedkari people of this country. Earlier, lakhs of people had gathered in Constitution Square on the occasion of various programs but such a thing never happened, he pointed out.
Social discord has been created near the statue of Babasaheb Ambedkar deliberately by giving religious slogans of Jai Shri Ram and vandalizing the statue area. At this time, self-proclaimed national leaders Jogendra Kawade, Jaideep Kawade, Sulekha Kumbhare and Milind Mane took the role of mute spectators, Sakhre said adding that Kawade and Kumbhare are helpless because they just want to enjoy power.
Mr. Sakhre has asked Nitin Gadkari and Devendra Fadnavis whether it is allowed for the people to go to any temple and give slogans of Jai Bhima? Also, is it okay to vandalize and damage the area there? If their answer is yes, then let Jogendra Kawade, Jaideep and Sulekha Kumbhare go to the temple and ask them to do so.
Mr. Sakhre has also warned that if Gadkari and Fadnavis do not apologize publicly to the Ambedkarite people in the next two days, agitation will be started across the state. If an issue of law and order is created in the state, Mr. Gadkari and Fadnavis should be held responsible for it, Sakhre has warned.
