Congress workers meeting held, Assembly elections discussed.

Gadchiroli July 20 (District Correspondent) A meeting of the Congress Party workers was held at the Circuit House here the other day.

Mr. Abhijeet Wanjari, MLC and Incharge of Gadchiroli District presided over the meeting while MP of Gadchiroli-Chimur Lok Sabha constituency, Dr. Namdev Kirsan, former MP Marotrao Kowase, District President Mahendra Brahmanwade, former MLAs Anandrao Gedam, P. R. Talandi, Ajay Kankadalwar, former ZP chief, Adv. Vishwajeet Kowase, Secretary of State Youth Congress were prominently present.

The meeting was convened by the district Congress committee in view of the forth coming Assembly elections and detailed discussions on the preparations of these elections were held in the meeting. The leaders expressed their views and stressed the need of contesting the elections with full might to secure victory on all the three Assembly segments in the district.

Mr. Wanjari called upon the office bearers of the party to focus on the elections and reach the grass root level and remain in close contact of the ground level workers and the comman people to get their problems solved. Congress party has always been working for the poor and comman people, he pointed out.

Dr. Kirsan asked the party workers to work with full confidence and ensure that the party candidates emerge victorious in the Assembly elections and the party is back to power in the state. The people are with the Congress and they have shown their trust in the party during the Lok Sabha elections. The same atmosphere needs to be kept intact, he advised.

Mr. Bramhanwade said party workers must remain alert in view of the coming elections and they should convince the people about the Congress programmes and policies. People need change in the state and workers should be active enough in that direction, he suggested.

The other leaders also expressed their views in the meeting and gave various suggestions. All the prominent office bearers, taluka presidents, presidents of various cells attended the meeting.
