In a statement issued here Mr. Mahendra Bramhanwade, District Congress chioef has said that Mr. Fadnavis has earned praise by accepting the guardianship of Gadchiroli that created a ray of hope among the citizens of the district. However, till now, he has not interacted with the citizens of the district, nor has he tried to understand their problems. Keeping in mind the feelings of the disgruntled people, this agitation has been organized.

The increasing movements of wild elephants, tigers and bears are creating an atmosphere of terror among the citizens of the district. Unseasonal rains had a serious impact on agriculture. Agriculture does not get 24-hour power supply, farmers have not received bonus, loan waivers, heavy traffic in Surjagad is causing accidents in the district and the death rate is increasing.

There is a large black market in sand in the district, sand is not available to Gharkul beneficiaries on time, farmers’ lands are being forcibly purchased at cheap prices in the name of industrial development, payments of many contractors in the district are overdue, payments of Gharkul beneficiaries have not been made, payments of wells are pending, the condition of the roads in the district is very poor.

Besides this, health facilities are inadequate, and it has become difficult for citizens to get timely treatment. Youth are in the grip of unemployment. Many such problems in the district are taking a serious form.

However, despite several agitations, Mr. Fadnavis has not paid serious attention to these problems even once. Therefore, Congress party has organized “maha yagna’ for pressing up the demand that the Chief Minister should come to Gadchiroli and give “darshan” to the people directly, interact with the farmers, women, small businessmen and youth of the district, and take immediate measures to solve the issues.
