Gadchiroli May 26 (District Correspondent) A marathon meeting of Public Works Department, National Highways Authority and Forest Department officials was held under the chairmanship of District Collector Avishyant Panda recently to resolve the problems of forest clearance in road projects and to complete the pending road works before the monsoon.

In this meeting, detailed discussions were made about the important roads that can be completed before the monsoon for better connectivity. The works of the roads that can be completed before June should be completed immediately. Where it is not possible to complete the works, temporary measures should be taken to ensure smooth traffic flow, directed Mr. Panda.

Under Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana, 78 road works are proposed in the district, out of which 10 roads connecting tribal villages and padas to main roads have been approved. These works should be taken up on priority and completed before the monsoon, Mr. Panda instructed.

The delay in the approval process required for roads passing through the forest department limits was also discussed on this occasion. The District Collector also instructed that the proposals of the Forest Department should be settled immediately and that the District Administration and Construction Department should jointly follow up this. He also clarified that in cases where approval is pending, a decision should be taken immediately and the work should be started.

The departmental coordination is necessary for the implementation of road development and all the concerned departments should work together, Panda said. The pending mobile tower works were also discussed. The Collector directed that the concerned agencies should take the responsibility of resolving the obstacles in these works and keep the internet and communication facilities intact.
