Gadchiroli June 18 (District Correspondent) District Collector Avishyant Panda gave instructions to make detailed planning to achieve this target through public movement along with all government and private institutions. The District Collector was speaking at a meeting organized at Niyojan Bhavan here regarding the tree plantation campaign under the Harit Maharashtra, Samruddhi Maharashtra campaign.
The state government has set a target of planting 1 crore trees in Gadchiroli district in the next two years under the ‘Harit Maharashtra, Samruddh Maharashtra’ campaign to increase the percentage of deforestation in the state. On this background, this meeting was organized.
Zilla Parishad CEO Suhas Gade, Additional SP M. Ramesh, Mr. Kartik, Assistant Collector Ranjit Yadav, Kushal Jain, Naman Goyal, Dy. Conservator of Forests Milish Sharma, Additional Collector Nitin Gawande were prominently present.
Since a large number of industries are coming to the district, one crore trees will be planted by the government and 11 lakh trees will be planted by Lloyd Metals. Mr. Panda instructed everyone to work together to make this tree plantation campaign a success. He also said that seedlings should be planted at least one and a half to three years old, special efforts and planning should be made to ensure that the seedlings survive and grow after planting, and that seedlings should be developed in nurseries for future tree plantation.
In the meeting, various government departments like Sericulture Department, Forest Department, Agriculture Department, Rural Development, Public Works, Water Resources, Social Forestry, Health Department, Education Department etc. as well as social organizations were given the target of tree plantation. The concerned officers of various departments as well as representatives of social organizations were present on this occasion.
