Gadchiroli Nov. 8 (District Correspondent) Under the initiative ‘one day of Diwali with children’, administrative officials in the district celebrated Diwali with destitute children the other day.
To double the happiness of the children by celebrating Diwali, Women and Child Development Commissioner Dr. Prashant Naranware had given instructions to the officials to spend one day of Diwali with children. Accordingly, the officials visited Ahilya Devi Balasadan run by Lokmangal Institute and spent a day of Diwali with the children.
Diwali festival was also celebrated by meeting the Collector Sanjay Daine with the children in his office. Deputy Collector Prasenjit Pradhan, District Supply Officer Prakash Patil, Assistant Commissioner of Social Welfare Sachin Madavi, Tehsildar Surendra Dandekar, Assistant DSO Shirish Kawle interacted with the children and got to know their interests, choices, hobbies, personality development, enjoyment and guided them to read the books.
A meeting of the children was also arranged with CEO of Zilla Parishad Ayushi Singh at her residence. Ms. Singh interacted with each child and various entertainment programs were organized to give scope to children’s talent. Ms. Singh also took meals with the children during this visit.
After that a visit was made to Zilla Parishad Gadchiroli. Additional CEO Rajendra Bhuyar gave Diwali wishes to the children and gave them information about administrative work. District Women and Child Development Officer Prakash Bhandakkar distributed diaries, pens and gifts to all the children
The said activity was organized under the guidance of District Collector Sanjay Daine and CEO Ayushi Singh. Ms. Archana Ingole, Deputy CEO (Child Welfare), Kashinath Devgale, Child Welfare Committee Member, Dinesh Borkute, District Probation Officer Vinod Patil, Child Protection Officer Avinash Gurnule, Kaveshwar Lengure, Uddhav Gurnule, Extension Officer, Lokmangal Sanstha’s Shiney Garvasis, Balasadan Principal Lalita Kujjur, Pianka Asutkar, Jayant Jathade, Ujwala Nakade, Ravindra Bandawar, Nilesh Deshmukh, and other officers and staff members were present.
