Gadchiroli Aug. 5 (District Correspondent) Gadchiroli district has achieved excellent performance in the ‘Sampurnata Abhiyan’ launched by the NITI Aayog for the development of the aspirational district and taluka and has won the bronze medal for the district as well as Aheri and Bhamragad talukas.
For this achievement, District Collector Avishyant Panda was honoured with the ‘Bronze’ medal by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis at the Revenue Conference organized at IIM Nagpur recently.
Revenue Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule, State Chief Secretary Rajesh Kumar, Additional Chief Secretary Rajagopal Deora, Additional Chief Secretary (Revenue) Vikas Kharge, Chief Minister’s Secretary Shrikar Pardeshi, all Divisional Commissioners and other dignitaries were present on the occasion.
In this ceremony, Gadchiroli district received the ‘Bronze’ medal in the Aspiring District Award category, while both Aheri and Bhamragad talukas of Gadchiroli district were also honoured with ‘Bronze’ medals in the Aspiring Taluka Award.
The ‘Sampurnata’ campaign is an ambitious initiative of the NITI Aayog, which aims to bring about all-round development in the backward districts of the country. The district achieved 100 percent of the target in terms of vaccination of children aged 9 to 11, electricity facilities in schools, and provision of textbooks within one month of the commencement of school.
At the taluka level, it has achieved 100 percent of the target in terms of diabetes and hypertension screening in Aheri, supplementary nutrition for pregnant mothers, soil testing and preparation of soil health cards, and in Bhamragad taluka, working capital provision to self-help groups along with diabetes and hypertension screening.
Because of this performance, Gadchiroli district has received this honour.
