
Gadchiroli, July 2 (District Correspondent) While celebrating ‘Agriculture Day’ on the birth anniversary of Late Vasantrao Naik, the Gadchiroli Zilla Parishad implemented innovative activities and officials directly reached the farmers’ doorsteps. After carrying out various activities in the presence of dignitaries in the main program organized at Zilla Parishad, CEO Suhas Gade along with all the senior officers went to the fields in Pathargota village of Armori taluka and planted rice saplings and studied the cultivation of ‘shingada’ fruit.
The main program was attended by Additional CEO Rajendra Bhuyar, District Agriculture Officer Preeti Hiralkar, Head of Agricultural Science Centre Dr. Kishore Zade, Agricultural Development Officer Anand Pal, District Soil Testing Officer Pradeep Tumsare, Technical Officer Anand Kamble.
The farmers who won crop competitions and agricultural awards in the district were felicitated. Cheques were distributed to the beneficiaries under the ‘Gopinath Munde Farmers Accidental Safety’ scheme.
The program was introduced by Mr. Anand Pal, moderated by Mr. Anup Bhoyar and Sunil Budhe, while Mr. Chalkalwar proposed the vote of thanks.
After the main program, the official’s team left to visit the Shingada plantation of farmer Ramdas Donadkar of Pathargota village. After watching a live demonstration here, the officials inspected the rice nursery in Kashinath Donadkar’s field and planted rice themselves. In this field visit, Vinod Uddharwar, Executive Engineer, Rural Water Supply, Nitin Patil, Deputy Engineer, Shekhar Shelar, Deputy CEO, Narayan Sardar, Executive Engineer, Works, Chetan Hivanj, Deputy CEO MGNREGA, Ravindra Kanse, Deputy CEO Panchayat, Mr. Kawale, Chief Accounts and Finance Officer, Mangesh Arewar, BDO Armori and Panchayat Samiti Agriculture Department, all officers, employees and farmers were present.
