
Gadchiroli Sept. 10 (District Correspondent) A cataract surgery and eye check-up camp was organized jointly by Ganyarpawaar Foundation Chamorshi and Mahatme Eye Hospital Nagpur and the district unit of NCP (Sharad Pawar) at Ashirwad Hall in Gokulnagar here the other day to mark the birthday of Mr. Atul Ganyarpawaar, District President of the party.
On this occasion as many as 450 patients were examined and given medicines free of cost. Also, free glasses were distributed to 200 patients. A problem of cataract was found in 125 patients during the eye check-up and they will be operated upon in Nagpur on September 18.
The camp was first inaugurated at the hands of Mr. Atul Ganyarpawar by lighting the traditional lamp. Regional Secretary Adv. Sanjay Thakre, City President Vijay Gordwar, District Vice President Naeem Sheikh, OBC Cell District President Shemdev Chafle, Minority President Hussain Sheikh, DCC Bank Director Amol Ganyarpawar, Sanjay Shringarpawar, Women District President Sangita Raut, Students District President Vaibhav Shivankar, former councillor Sandhya Uike, Minal Chimurkar, were prominently present.
Apart from this, food was donated to the patients in District Women’s Hospital, fruits were distributed to the patients and their relatives in District General Hospital, fruits and educational materials were distributed to the students of Kaushalya Residential Mentally Impaired School in Lanzheda ward of the city. Also, blankets were distributed to about 300 women in Gokulnagar to mark the birthday of Mr. Atul Ganyarpawar.
To make the program a success, District Youth NCP President Himanshu Deshmukh, Asha Meshram, Mina Dahake, Sapna Maraskolhe, Babytai Labhane, Maya Akewar, Monu Pathan, Malayya Kalwa, Nilesh Kotgale, Raju Dangewar and other workers took pains.
