Gadchiroli April 27 (District Correspondent) With the initiative of the police department, a bus service from Mauja Katezhari to Gadchiroli has been started by Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation, for the first time after independence.

Gadchiroli district is known as a tribal-dominated and Maoist-affected district. Due to the lack of transportation for the citizens living in remote areas, they have to travel on foot. Various activities are being implemented by the Gadchiroli Police Force to make the lives of the citizens of such remote areas easier.

This year, on 01 last, a bus service from Gatta to Gardewada and beyond upto Wangeturi was started. In the remote areas, a total of 434.53 km. long 18 roads along with a total of 59 bridges have been constructed under police protection. Similarly, to provide the citizens of the remote Katezari village with means of travel easily to the tehsil or district, with the efforts of the Gadchiroli Police Force and in collaboration with the MSRTC the new bus service was started.

As the bus arrived in the village for the first time after 78 years of independence, the citizens of the area welcomed it with cheers. Sub-Divisional Police Officer Jagdish Pandey inaugurated the bus service and guided the villagers. Officer-in-Charge of Police Station Katezari, Ajay Bhosale flagged off the bus.

This bus service will benefit 10 to 12 surrounding villages. With the start of this bus service, the students of the village will get education facilities. This will also save the usual walking of the citizens of the village. The facility of S.T bus on this route will enable the villagers to travel easily throughout the year, and will also help in strengthening the relationship between the police and the public.

The bus service was started with the initiative of Superintendent of Police Mr. Nilotpal, under the guidance of Additional SP (Campaign) Yatish Deshmukh, Additional SP (Administration) M. Ramesh, SDPO Dhanora Jagdish Pandey, DySP  (Campaign) Mr. Vishal Nagargoje and efforts of  Katezari Police Station’s Ajay Bhosale and the officers and officials.
