Gadchiroli Sept. 25 (District Correspondent) A bullock that was stucked in a road side water tank on Chamorshi Road of the city was taken out by the citizens after two-hour efforts which gave a lifer to the animal and helped the smooth water supply of the city.

It so happened that a bullock roaming on the road got to fell in a water tank (with a water supply walve) of the Municipal Council Chamorshi Road National Highway in the city this morning.

The citizens who had gone for the morning walk alerted the Municipal council after they came to know about the incident. The Municipal officials however, did not reach the spot even after waiting for some time and finally people themselves who had gathered on the spot took out the bullock after two hours of efforts.

Two years ago, a dead body of a man was stucked in the pipe near a water tank of Vridhhashrama in Vivekanand Nagar area of the city. The water supply of the city was to be stopped for about a fortnight following that incident. line same walve and a person died in a pipeline in the water tank area adjacent to Vivekananda Nagar of the city.

During the construction of the National Highway, two – three tanks have been built on Chamorshi Road and the waste water of the village accumulates in these tanks. These tanks have the water supply walves from where water is released to the taps through taps.

Social worker Sukhdeo Bawne, NCP activist Manjusha Lambat, Rituja Kannake, and others made efforts in removing the bullock in today’s incident. Citizens are demanding that the municipal administration should take immediate measures to prevent the recurrence of such incidents and remove the valve from where the water is supplied to the entire city.
