Gadchiroli Oct. 27 (District Correspondent) Hundreds of BJP workers have once again come forward in support of MLA Dr. Devrao Holi and demanding a party ticket to him for the Assembly elections. They have warned to tender mass resignations from the party if the candidature of Dr. Holi is not reconsidered within two days.
Addressing a crowded press conference at the press club here for the second time in the last three days, Mr. Dilip Chalakh, district Secretary of BJP said that a grave injustice has been done with Dr. Holi by denying him a ticket. False complaints with the bogus signatures of BJP workers were made to the party higher-ups by some leaders out of personal enmity. These complaints were not verified by the leadership and Dr. Holi was not given the party ticket, he said.
This is the insult of all the workers who have worked for the party honestly for the last so many years, said Mr. Chalakh. Dr. Holi has worked for the development of the area and is quite popular among the common people because of his good nature. More than 25,000 people participated in the rally that was organized by Dr. Holi a couple of days back which shows his popularity, claimed Mr. Chalakh.
We will field Dr. Holi as an independent candidate if he is not given ticket by the party. BJP candidate Dr. Narote will certainly be defeated in the election as the majority of workers will not campaign for him. The candidature given to Dr. Milind Narote should therefore be cancelled and it be given to Dr. Devrao Holi, he demanded.
Also present at the press conference were Mr. Marotrao Ichodkar, former Chairman of Panchayat Samiti, Vilas Dashmukhe, former Dy. Chairman of Panchayat Samiti, Ms. Pratibha Chaudhari, senior leader, Sainath burande, Hemant Borkute, Ramratan gohne, Jayram Chalakh, Purushottam Borkute, Ramchandra Warwade, Pratik Rathi, Vivek Bais, Deepak Barsagade and many others.
