Gadchiroli Aug. 29 (District Correspondent) Former MLA and senior Congress leader Anandrao Gedam has demanded that all the vacant posts of teachers in the district should be filled in from amongst the qualified unemployed youths of the district.

Mr. Gedam, along with the other workers met the Tehsildar of Armori and submitted him a memorandum addressed to the School Education Minister in this regard.

Gadchiroli is a backward, naxal affected and no industries district. The youths here are long away from employment in want of education facilities. Several posts of teachers in Zilla Parishad schools are lying vacant and the students have been suffering a great deal of academic loss, Gedam pointed out.

There are so many youths having taken the degrees of D. Ed, B. Ed. And they are still unemployed and searching for the jobs for the last many years. The state government has however taken a decision of appointing retired teachers on the vacant posts of teachers which is totally wrong and unjust for the unemployed youths, Gedam further said in the memorandum.

This decision should immediately be cancelled and the qualified unemployed candidates from the district should be appointed as the teachers, Mr. Gedam demanded.

He has sent the copies of the memorandum to the chief Minister, Dy. Chief minister and other authorities also.
