Gadchiroli Oct. 26 (District Correspondent) All the Ambedkarite political parties and social organizations in the city have taken a unanimous decision to contest the upcoming Gadchiroli Municipal Council elections together.
This decision was taken amidst huge applause in a grand meeting held in an enthusiastic atmosphere at the Chemist Bhavan here on Saturday which marked a new era of the Ambedkarite politics of the district.
Representatives of all major political parties, social and religious organizations as well as employee, officers, labour unions of Gadchiroli city participated in the meeting.
The meeting that was called by senior Republican leader Rohidas Raut, was presided over by senior social activist Dr. Kailash Nagrale. BSP District President Bhaskar Meshram, Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi President Prof. Prashant Devhare, All India Republican Party’s Hansraj Undirwade, Azad Samaj Party’s Dharmanand Meshram, BRSP’s Milind Bambode, Pramod Raut of Bahujan Mukti Morcha, Prof. Gautam Dange of Bouddha Mahasabha, Pratik Dange of Buddhist Society of India, Gautam Meshram of Sanvidhan Foundation, Devanand Phulele of Swatantra Mazur Union, Tulshidas Sahare of Bodhi Vriksha Samiti, Bhimrao Shende of Jestha Nagarik Sanghatana, Bandubhau Khobragade of Prabuddha Vichar Manch, Ramnath Khobragade of Buddha Foundation were prominently present.
Initially, Mr. Rohidas Raut put up a proposal before the meeting by explaining his position on contesting the municipal council elections jointly by all Ambedkarite parties, and the representatives of all the political parties and organizations present showed their full support after a comprehensive and lengthy discussion, and this proposal was unanimously passed amidst applause and sloganeering.
A committee of 35 people was also unanimously announced for the conduct of the entire elections and this committee was entrusted with the responsibility of the following programs. Mr. Rohidas Raut and Dr. Kailas Nagrale were declared as the main convenors of the Committee.
Mr. Mohanlal Motghare of Auto Rickshaw Union, Vijay Durge of E Rickshaw Union, Prashant Babu Khobragade of Sonapur Vihar Samiti, Pradeep Bhaisare of Samyak Buddha Vihar, Siddharth Govardhan of Ramnagar, Prashant Khobragade of Phule Ward, Mahadev Nimgade of Navegaon Vihar, Sukhdev Wasnik of Sanvidhan Chowk, Uttam Motghare of Ambedkar Chowk, Rahul Vankar, senior women activist Surekhatai Barsagade, Dr. Ankita Dhakade, Sanjay Meshram of Visapur Ward and office bearers of the various Mandals of all wards of the city participated in the meeting.
Everyone expressed happiness over the decision to contest the elections together and expressed their determination to face the elections with full strength.
