Gadchiroli Feb. 28 (District Correspondent) Various Ambedkarite organizations in the district paid a visit to village Somanpalli in chamorshi taluka recently and talked to the ambedkarite people of the village. They appealed to the Ambedkarite followers in the area to maintain social harmony in the light of the said incident.

The police have vigilantly searched for the accused involved in the case and are investigating further to see if there is a mastermind behind it. We should therefore provide them with the expected cooperation. Let us all be careful that social harmony is not disturbed under any circumstances. This appeal was made by the office bearers of the All-India Republican Party, Indian Buddhist Mahasabha and Sanvidhan Foundation.

During the discussion, the office bearers listened to the views of the local people. They said that the police should find the mastermind behind this incident and that the square where the great man was insulted should be named after Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar. The administration should honor Babasaheb Ambedkar by naming the square, opined the villagers. The office bearers assured that they would present their demands to the administration through constitutional channels. Earlier, all the office bearers visited the scene and inspected it.

The office bearers included Rohidas Raut, Central Vice President of the All-India Republican Party, State Vice President Prof. Prakash Dudhe, District President Hansraj Undirwade, District President of the Indian Buddhist Mahasabha Tularam Raut and District Coordinator of the Sanvidhan Foundation Gautam Meshram.

Also present were Somanpalli Police Patil Mangala Bhendare, Bouddha Samaj President Gautam Meshram, Kajal Meshram, Ghanshyam Godbole, Umaji Alone, Bhumikala Avathare, Sunita Dethekar, Anand Godbole, Pramod Dethekar, Ninad Dethekar, Rusabai Nimsarkar, volunteers of Samata Sainik Dal and Buddhist brothers and sisters.
