Gadchiroli Aug. 14 (District Correspondent) The administration have miserably failed in handing over the transfer certificates (TC) of two students even as the father of these students have been moving pillar to post and knocking the doors of the various departments concerned for the last over three weeks.

Niyog Yogeshwar Dongarwar (2 nd std) and Anvi Yogeshwar Dongarwar (5 th std) are these two unfortunate and helpless students. They were studying in Vidarbha Poddar International School Gadchiroli.  According to Mr. Yogeshwar Dongarwar, he was scheduled to be transferred, he did not send his children to school this session.

When Dongarwar applied for the TC on July 21, 2025, the school demanded an additional payment of Rs 10,000 from him. When Dongarwar asked for a written letter about the fee, he was given a vague reply from the school. Despite Dongarwar filing a written complaint against the school to the Education Officer and the District Collector, the students have not been given TC till date. The students are therefore facing educational losses as they are deprived of further education due to non-issuance of TC from the school.

Mr. Dongarwar then held a press conference to narrate his problem and demanded that action should be taken against the principal who did not issue TC. Not only this, the father also approached the Education Officer (Secondary) and Child Rights Protection Committee seeking early issuance of the TCs. Both these offices however just issued letters that too after 15 days of the receipt of the complaint.

When contacted by this correspondent, the principal of the school told that both the TCs were kept ready but the management instructed not to issue them and the documents are now in the custody of the management authorities. The Education Officer cited the reason of shortage of manpower for the delay in issuing a letter to the principal. The Chairperson of the Child rights Protection committee also told that a letter has been issued to the principal in this regard.

The father also has lodged a complaint with the Gadchiroli Police Station seeking action against the school as the matter is a cognizable offence, but no any action has been taken by the police too as yet.

According to Right to Education, it is mandatory on the part of the schools to issue the transfer certificates of the students without any delay. The government has also issued a strict circular in this regard asking the education institutions to issue the TCs urgently. But all these provisions have been ignored by the school.

Will the administration now act in the matter swiftly and see to it that the TCs are issued immediately and save the students from their academic loss, has to be seen now.
