Gadchiroli Aug. 9 (District Correspondent) Various utility materials were distributed  to tribal people and school students from remote areas at Ekalavya Hall under the Gadchiroli Police’s Dadalora Khidki’ scheme at the hands of Additional Director General of Police Tshering Dorje on Friday.

As many as 300 citizens and students from various places in remote areas were present on the occasion. The tribals were given 5 sewing machines, 10 smokeless stoves, 10 spray pumps, as well as two-wheeler repair kits to 28 trainees and bicycles to 61 school students. Also, the students who excelled in the Veer Baburao Shedmake General Knowledge contest were felicitated with cash prizes, medals and certificates.

While addressing the programme Mr. Dorje said, ‘Maoism in Gadchiroli district is seems to have reduced due to the coordination of police and citizens. Students should focus on their education and work hard for a better future. The police force is always committed to solving all the problems of the citizens, he promised.

‘Police Dadalora Khidki has been started to provide high-quality professional and skill training to the educated unemployed youth of the district. In this, the Gadchiroli Police Force is working for the all-round development of the citizens.  13,997 youths have been provided employment and self-employment training, 737 farmers have benefited from agricultural trips, 1240 citizens have undergone eye surgeries, and 71 public libraries have been established in the remote areas. Also, 3,578 students have been given training in software development and web development. A total of 10,73,905 citizens have been given the benefit of various government schemes through the Police Dadalora window, it was informed on the occasion.

A foundation stone laying ceremony of the volleyball and basketball grounds at the Police Drill Ground was held at the hands of Mr. Dorje. The officers and employees of the police force will benefit from these grounds to maintain their physical health along with their duties.

DIG Gadchiroli Area Ankit Goyal, SP Nilotpal, Additional SP (Operations) M. Ramesh, Additional SP Aheri (Pranhita) Satya Sai Karthik, Additional SP (Administration) Gokul Raj G., Assistant SP Dhanora Aniket Hirde and DySP (Operations) Mr. Vishal Nagargoje were prominently present.

The Officer-in-Charge of the Civil Action Branch Chandrakant Shelke and all the officials of the Police Headquarters worked tirelessly for the success of this program.
