Gadchiroli Sept. 14 (District Correspondent) Writing a new chapter in women empowerment through skill development and gender diversity, Lloyds Metals and Energy Limited (LMEL) has onboarded 19 women from Konsari village into its workforce. LMEL had sponsored their training in light motor vehicle (LMV) driving, and now they have been absorbed in jobs in the company after successful completion of training.
In June earlier this year, LMEL had sent 19 women from Konsari village to receive LMV driving training at Ashok Leyland’s facility in Chhindwara in Madhya Pradesh. During the 45-day residential LMV driving training programme, these women were trained in developing LMV driving skills. It not only raised their confidence level but also gave them a sense of greater dignity. Their family members also were proud of these women acquiring new skills.
Addressing these women during the onboarding ceremony at Lloyds Skill Development and Training Centre at Konsari, LMEL senior officers said that Lloyds Metals considered community empowerment as the cornerstone of its success. Empowerment of women through upskilling, ensuring gender diversity in the workforce, and making available newer opportunities for progress to women is part of the noble vision of LMEL’s Managing Director Mr. B. Prabhakaran, they said.
With these women joining the LMEL family, a new chapter of growth has started in their life. The senior officers advised the women to rise up the ladder of progress by earning eligibility for higher roles through discipline, safety, and responsibility.
The appointment letters, certificate of successful completion of training, driving license, and bouquet were presented to the women, on this occasion.
