Gadchiroli June 24 (District Correspondent) Scripting a new chapter in women empowerment, Lloyds Metals and Energy Ltd (LMEL) has sent 19 women from Konsari village to receive light motor vehicle (LMV) driving training at Ashok Leyland’s facility in Chhindwara in Madhya Pradesh. The bus carrying these women for 45-day residential training, sponsored fully by LMEL, was flagged off by senior officers on Friday morning.

Mr. Shrikant Pawde, Sarpanch of Konsari along with LMEL senior officials graced the occasion. They flagged-off the bus carrying 19 women from Konsari village to Ashok Leyland facility in Chhindwara.

Addressing the trainees and their family members, Mr. Pawde thanked Lloyds Metals for opening a new avenue of skill development for the women from the village. He appealed to the women to take advantage of the training opportunity for their empowerment, and for the betterment of their families.

HR official of the company said that Lloyds Metals focussed on upskilling local communities and empowering women. “Our Managing Director Mr. B. Prabhakaran has a grand vision for development of the region and offering more and more opportunities to the local communities for inclusion in the growth process,” he added.

Mr. Pawde and the senior officers of LMEL and LICL felicitated the trainee-women at Lloyds Skill Development and Training Centre at Konsari.

First batch of 20 students from ITI-Chamorshi commence on-job training.

Meanwhile, The first batch of 20 students from the Industrial Training Institute (ITI) at Chamorshi began their on-job training at Lloyds Skill Development and Training Centre at Konsari. At the end of the training programme, these students will get certificates, which will help them in unlocking opportunities for their career in respective trades.

The LICL and LMEL senior officials addressed the participants of the on-job training programme. They urged the students to make full use of the opportunity of on-job training to enhance their skills in respective trades.

The second batch of on-job training will commence from September 1. Already, LMEL has sent letters to 35 Government ITIs in Gadchiroli district to send their students for the training programme so that they get hands-on experience of different trades.
