Gadchiroli March 26 (District Correspondent) ‘The principles of equality, freedom and fraternity enshrined in the constitution of India have emerged from the teachings of Buddha and not from the French Revolution. The Constitution is a document of reconstruction. It’s not only the document of governance but the document of determination. With the emergence of the Constitution the citadel of the oppressive system and unlimited empire collapsed in a moment’.

This was observed by well known constitutional expert and political leader Adv. Dr. Suresh Mane while speaking at the ‘Sanvidhan Parishad’ organized by Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Study Center of Gondwana University at its auditorium here on Tuesday.

Vice chancellor of the University Dr. Prashant Bokare presided over the programme while Pro VC, Dr. Shriram Kawle, Registrar Dr. Anil Hirekhan, Senate members Milind Bhagat, Prashant Padole, Vivek Gorlawar were prominently present.

In his hour-long speech, Dr. Mane said the constitution has the reflection of not only the freedom struggle but the movement of the human rights. It has provided the road map of the reconstruction of the country. There needs to be a society based on the philosophy of equality, the society contrary to the principles of the Constitution will not achieve anything, he warned.

The journey of India has been going on towards the social equality but economic inequality which is not good for the health of the country. The people without constitutional morality won’t be able to run the state. If a political class is mentally and socially corrupt, it won’t be able to give justice to the society. Such class should be changed, he appealed.

Dr. Bokare, in his presidential speech said the constitution has the potential to create the responsible generation. Our country is being run for the last over 75 years on the base of the Constitution is the specialty of this document. This constitution will go ahead for the next 1,000 years and many countries in the world will accept this model, he hoped.

The constitution of India has succeeded in maintaining its existence because it reflects the thoughts of the society. It is also flexible and has provisions of amendments. The youths should understand this follow it in its true spirit, Dr. Bokare appealed.

Dr. Dilip Barsagade, Head of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar study Center made an introductory speech and gave the details of the two-day Sanvidhan Parishad. Dr. Hemraj nikhade, Assistant Professor conducted the programme and Dr. Anil Hirekhan proposed the vote of thanks.
