Gadchiroli Feb. 24 (District Correspondent) A Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) jawan from Dhanora committed suicide by shooting himself in the ear on this morning at around 10.30. The deceased jawan has been identified as Giriraj Ramnaresh Kishore (30).
According to information, Giriraj Kishore is originally from Agra in Uttar Pradesh state and was working in the 113 Battalion of the Central Reserve Force headquartered at Dhanora. He was on duty at the Dhanora police station since October 2024. At around 10.30 am today, he shot himself from his own rifle. He was rushed to the rural Hospital of Dhanora where doctors declared him dead.
The reason why he committed suicide is not yet clear. The Dhanora police have informed his family about the incident and a post-mortem is pending. He had returned from leave just three days ago; it is told.
Whether the jawan committed suicide or was shot accidentally will be clear only after the investigation.
Earlier, on February 12, 2024, a State Reserve Police Force jawan posted at the residence of the District Collector had committed suicide by shooting himself. Then on December 11, 2024, a security guard of the District and Sessions Judge died due to a misfire. Earlier also this type of incidents have taken place in the district.
