Gadchiroli Dec. 17 (District Correspondent) Maharashtra Director General of Police Rashmi Shukla visited Gadchiroli Police Force today and inspected the newly established Pengunda Police Assistance Centre under Sub-Division Bhamragadh and interacted with the officials.
Ms. Shukla reviewed the anti-Maoist campaign in Pengunda area and inspected the living arrangements of the jawans. Additional Director General of Police (Law and Order) Sanjay Saxena, Commissioner, State Intelligence Departmet Shirish Jain, Special IG Anti-Naxal Operations Sandeep Patil, DIG Gadchiroli Range Ankit Goyal accompanied her.
Ms. Shukla attended the awareness rally and spray pumps, large utensils for cooking, musical instruments, sewing machines, blankets, lower-T-shirts, dhotis, ghamelas, sarees and slippers for women, as well as bicycles, pens, notebooks, school bags, cricket kits, volleyballs and nets, clothes, compasses, chocolates, biscuits etc.
More than 1000 citizens from Pengunda area were present in this meeting. While interacting with the citizens she said that through the new police centre, Gadchiroli Police Force will try to solve the problems and maximum people should take the benefit of the schemes implemented by the Police Force. Although Pengunda, which is located at the remote area, roads, health services and other facilities will be provided here in the future, she promised.
Ms. Shukla also said that all the officers and jawans should live in unity with the citizens and perform their duty. In the coming time we will end Maoism and develop Gadchiroli district, she said. Ms. Shukla declared a special prize of Rs. 1 lakh to the police centre.
The DGP then reviewed the anti-Naxal campaign in the area and held a group meeting of all the police officers and understood their difficulties.
Superintendent of Police Mr. Nilotpal, Commandant of 113 Bn. of CRPF Jasvir Singh, Additional SP (Operations) Yatish Deshmukh, Additional SP (Admin.) M. Ramesh, Additional SP Aheri Shrenik Lodha, SDPO Bhamragad Amar Mohite and SDPO Aheri Ajay Kokate were also present.
