Gadchiroli Dec. 1 (District Correspondent) ‘Gadchiroli district has a heritage of natural and cultural richness. We should proudly present our positive identity to the world as a pollution-free district, preserving tribal culture, having clean air, clean water, having the highest mineral content and known as the lungs of Maharashtra,’.
This was the appeal made by District Collector Sanjay Daine while despatching a contingent of 50 tribal youth from the district to Bangalore recently under the joint auspices of the Nehru Yuva Kendra, Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India and the Central Reserve Police Force under the Tribal Youth Exchange Program.
Deputy Inspector General of Central Reserve Police Force Ajay Kumar Sharma was present as the chairman of the program.
Interacting with the youth on this occasion, Mr. Sharma said that through this program, the youths should be informed about the outside world, get information about tribal culture, art and other social things of other states and try to achieve their social development through it. He also appealed to the youths to take advantage of this opportunity and make the district proud.
Deputy Commandant Sumit Verma, Deputy Commandant Nitin Kumar were present on the occasion. The program was introduced by District Youth Officer Amit Punde and the vote of thanks was given by Mr. Pande of the Central Reserve Police Force.
A total of 50 candidates from Aheri, Bhamragad and Etapalli sub divisions of Naxal-affected Gadchiroli district are included in this batch. In the year 2024-25, a total of 450 tribal youth from the district will be sent to Inspector General of Police, West Zone Central Reserve Police Force, Navi Mumbai, CRPF Gadchiroli and Nehru Yuva Kendra, Gadchiroli. In various 9 historical cities of India, the CRPF and Nehru Yuva Kendra have been organizing tribal youth exchange programs since 2006 for the development and integration of tribal youth.
The major activities of the program include interaction sessions with constitutional officers, dignitaries and eminent persons, panel discussions, lecture sessions, activities under Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, elocution competition, skill development, industry visits related to career guidance, visits to important and historical places etc.
