Gadchiroli Oct. 8 (District Correspondent) Maharashtra Andhasraddha Nirmulan Samiti (MANS) district branch Gadchiroli organized a workshop at Navodaya School at Ghot in Chamorshi Taluka the other day.

The workshop was inaugurated at the hands of Mr. Nilesh Gohane Police Incharge of Ghot. District Vice President of MANS Choparam Kamble presided over the programme while Principal Dr. Rajan Gajbhiye of Navodaya Vidyalaya Ghot, Vilas Nimbokar State Co-ordinator of MANS, Vinay Barsagade Dy. Sarpanch, Ghot, Ashok Poraddiwar, Vitthalrao Kothare District Working President, Dinkar Lakde were prominently present.

The program was started by offering floral tributes to the late Dr. Narendra Dabholkar, Founder Working President of Maha Anis. Mr. Purushottam Thakre presented the movement song.

Mr. Nilesh Gohane described the recent incident of witchcraft in Gadchiroli district and said that through the Superstition Eradication Committee or through the other social workers, the picture of blind faith needs to be changed.

Mr. Gajbhiye expressed the opinion that Anis movement is necessary to reach the school students. Vilas Nimborkar said that unless school teachers know what scientific approach is, it is impossible to inculcate scientific approach in students. It also requires strong political will to end superstition.

In his presidential speech, Mr. Kamble said the Maha Anis has been doing praiseworthy work to eradicate superstition and the movement’s work must continue.

In the second session, written reports of all the branches were handed over to District Working President Mr. Vitthalrao Kothare and Principal Secretary Mr. Purushottam Thakre. Mr. Haridas Kotarange of Gadchiroli city branch, Ms. Ishwar Chaudhary, Ghot, Asif Syed- Chamorshi, Shivram Mogarkar- Jinjgaon, Sitaram Madavi were felicitated on behalf of the district branch by giving them a bouquet for their laudable activities.

Ms. Vijayashree Agde, Principal of Navodaya Primary School presided while Umakant Meshram, Vilas Nimborkar, Chopram Kamble, Vitthalrao Kothare, Anandrao Sidam, Ms. Sudhatai Chaudhari, Dinkar Lakde were present.

Mr. Vitthal Kothare made an introductory speech, Prof. Vilas Parkhi conducted the programme and Govindrao Brahmanwade proposed the vote of thanks.    A large number of workers attended the workshop.
