Gadchiroli Aug. 2 (District Correspondent) The name written in golden letters in the social and cultural history of Marathi literature in Maharashtra is Sahitya Ratna Annabhau Sathe, who, through his literary work has made the greatest national contribution to take the space of Marathi literature to the world level and hoisting the flag of Marathi literature at the international level since the 1950s.

This was stated by Mr. Kalidas Raut, President of Samidha college of College of Civil Services while speaking at the birth anniversary of Sahitya Ratna Annabhau Sathe in the college auditorium here on Thursday.

In-charge Principal Tilesh Mohurle, Prof. Ankush Gohne, Prof. Pritam Kohpare, Prof. Sapna Kunghadkar, Prof. Sneha Mauhurle, Madhukar Rohankar were prominently present.

Mr. Raut told the students that they should read the literature of Annabhau Sathe in their student life. Students should use social media to increase their intellectual level. He shed light on the life biography of Annabhau Sathe and called upon the students to emulate his ideas.

In his introductory speech, Prof. Tillesh Mohurle said Annabhau Sathe’s education was low but his social depth was high. Analysing his literature, he told the students the importance of his literary and revolutionary work.

Prof. Ankush Gohane said if the students want to progress, they should develop reading habits and increase their knowledge and focus on building own career.

Some students including Ms. Suhani Ramteke, Aditya Gedam also expressed their thoughts on the occasion and spoke about Annabhau Sathe. The program was moderated by Sharwari Randive and vote of thanks was given by Juhi Gordwar. A large number of students and teaching, non-teaching staff of the college attended the programme.
