Gadchiroli June 13 (District Correspondent) In order to inculcate the best moral values and Dhamma culture in children from their childhood and also to know about the life work of Lord Buddha and Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar, Youth Dhamma Sanskar camps were organized recently in various Buddha Viharas of the city by the district branch of the Buddhist Society of India. As many as 130 young men and women participated in these five-day camps and learned information about Buddha and Dhamma.

These camps were organized in Samyak Buddha Vihara Gokul Nagar, Prabuddha Buddha Vihara, Vivekananda Nagar, Panchsheel Buddha Vihara, Ramnagar, Amrapali Buddha Vihara, Phule Ward and Shravasti Buddha Vihara, Sonapur Complex in Gadchiroli city.

Information on various aspects of the Lord Buddha and Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar including childhood and life biography of Gautama Buddha, biography of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar, 22 pratigyas given during conversion, importance of Dhamma Sanskar camp, Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar’s message to the students, Panchang Pranam and Buddha Vandana, objectives and procedures of the Indian Buddhist Mahasabha, etc. were told to the participant youths through these camps.

District President of the Bouddha Mahasabha Tularam Raut, General Secretary Prof. Gautam Dange, Treasurer Moreshwar Ambade, Vice President Lahu Ramteke, City President Balkrishna Bambole, City General Secretary Suryabhan Ghutke, Taluka President M. N. Wankar, Taluka Women President Shital Bhaisare, General Secretary Seema Khobragade, Sanvidhan Foundation Coordinator Gautam Meshram, Central Teacher Surekha Barsagade, City Women President Aruna Raut, General Secretary Namita Waghade, Women Vice President Jyoti Urade, Central Teachers Sumitra Raut, Manisha Warke, Treasurer Leena Dholne,  Sanskar Department’s Pournima Durge guided the youths on various topics.

The concluding program of the camp was held at Samyak Budha Vihar Gokul Nagar where district president Tularam Raut presided over the programme while President of Samyak Jyeshtha Nagar Sangh Kawduji Undirwade, President of Samyak Samaj Samiti Hansraj Undirwade, social worker Peradeep Bhaisare were the chief guides. Certificates were given to the youths in this programme.

The Bouddha Mahasabha has been organizing various such camps and other activities for the propagation of Buddhism and the youth camp was a part of it which was quite useful for the youths. More such camps will be organized in the days to come, informed Prof. Guatma Dange.
