Gadchiroli Aug. 31 (District Correspondent) Former minister of state Raje Ambrishrao directly rushed to the office of the Water Supply in Aheri and took the concerned officials to task directing them to resolve the drinking water issue faced by the residents of Aheri immediately.
The citizens of Aheri town have been facing the problem of drinking water for about two years. Muddy water mixed with worms is being supplied to the town dwellers. Citizens have been suffering a lot due to inadequate and contaminated water supply. Even after two years of continuous representations and requests, there was no any change in the situation. On the contrary, the problem has been increasing day by day.
The engineers looking after the water supply scheme have been residing in Chandrapur. He keeps visiting once in four months and ignores the problem. they give excuses and kill time. When he is asked by the citizens about the water problem, he gives various reasons like increased tap connection and sometimes problem of power supply and shows no any response to solve the problem.
The distressed citizens have been going to the office of the Jeevan Pradhikaran very frequently. Former Guardian Minister Mr. Raje Ambrishrao Maharaj took notice of the problem and reached the office and directed the officials to provide smooth, regular and pure drinking water supply immediately.
Mr. Atram also interacted with the women who had come to the office and understood their problems. He contacted the Engineer on the phone and inquired about the problems related to increased water supply and asked him to submit a detailed plan assuring to make the necessary follow up soon at the government level and get the funds sanctioned from the government for the scheme.
