Gadchiroli July 23 (District Correspondent) Gadchiroli is a geographically very large district. Some talukas are 100 – 125 km from the district headquarters. In such a situation, the general public had to go to Gadchiroli for justice. But now with the opening of the District and Additional Sessions Court at Aheri, the process of justice has come to the doorstep of tribals. It is very necessary to reach justice to the last man, especially as per the fundamental right given by the Constitution of India.
This was stated by Justice Bhushan Gavai of the Supreme Court of India while speaking at the inauguration of District and Additional Sessions Court at Aheri on Saturday.
Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis was present as the chief guest online. Bombay High Court, Nagpur Bench Justices Atul Chandurkar, Sanjay Mehre and Justice Mahendra Chandwani, Principal District and Sessions Judge Uday Shulk, District and Additional Sessions Judge of Aheri Ravi Shankar Bawankar, President Aheri Vakil Sangh, Rajendra Prasad Menganwar and were prominently present.
Justice Gavai further said that today is a dream day, justice should reach everyone. This is our fundamental right. It is everyone’s duty to create economic and social equality in India. For that it is time for the legislature, executive, judiciary and various institutions to work together for the progress of the country, he said.
Mr. Fadnavis has a special love for Gadchiroli, so he took guardianship of this district. There is an abundance of natural beauty and forest resources and wildlife are the precious assets of Gadchiroli and he has emphasized on developing the district by utilizing its mineral and natural resources, Gavai said.
Due to the District and Additional Sessions Court at Aheri justice will be done to the citizens of about 725 villages of the adjoining talukas, he hoped. The hardships of the clients in remote areas will be removed, and they will get justice in less expenses, he added.
District and Additional Session at Aheri has been started to ensure that no one is deprived of justice because of geographical conditions. For this, the lawyer association of Aheri has done a lot of follow-ups, remarked Mr. Fadnavis. 725 villages in the area and 3 lakh citizens will benefit from the justice system. In a way, ‘Justice is at your door’, he added.
He further said, for a healthy democracy, there should be a good judiciary. From Gadchiroli the places of Aheri, Sironcha, Bhamragad, Etapalli talukas are very far away and with the establishment of a court in Aheri, people will get justice on the spot. Expanding the infrastructure and justice system has been done so that no one is deprived of justice, he stated.
Mr. Mahendra Chandwani said Deputy CM Fadnavis has contributed significantly to the establishment of Additional District and Sessions Court at Aheri. This court will save time and money of the parties. Also, maximum number of cases will be settled.
Justice Chandurkar said there was a demand for an additional court at Aheri. Citizens here had to go to Gadchiroli for justice. However due to the cooperation of all, the court has been established. Justice for everyone is the basic goal of the constitution, he stated.
The program was started by lighting the lamp by the dignitaries. The students of Saint Manav Dayal Adivasi Ashram School recited the Preamble of the Constitution in Gondi language.
Principal District and Sessions Judge Uday Shukla made an introductory speech and President of Lawyers Association Rajendra Prasad Menganwar gave vote of thanks. The program was attended by Deputy Inspector General of Police Sandeep Patil, Collector Sanjay Meena, Superintendent of Police Nilotpal, Legal Services Authority Secretary Rajendra Patil along with other judges and dignitaries.
