Gadhiroli Oct. 20 (District Correspondent) Lloyds Metals and Energy Limited (LMEL), a leading iron ore and steel company in Maharashtra, is taking a significant step towards empowering the local community by providing training opportunities to the youth of Konsari village in Chamorshi taluka of the district. LMEL which is already engaged in manufacturing of high-quality sponge iron, will soon enter into manufacturing of pallets through a state-of-the-art 4 MTPA Pallet plant at Konsari.

In line with the vision of LMEL’s Managing Director, Mr. B. Prabhakaran to prioritize employment opportunities for the local population and empowering the local land partners, the company has selected and sent a batch of 67 trainee candidates, including six Diploma Engineer Trainees from Konsari village for a comprehensive training program at BRPL Jajpur, Odisha. They will receive specialized training to enhance their skills and knowledge.

The training program, which will span six months, will equip the candidates with the necessary expertise to operate the company’s new upcoming pallet plant efficiently. The program, which includes all facilities and perks, is part of LMEL’s commitment to investing in the future of the local youth. After successfully completing the training, the candidates will receive on-the-job training at the Konsari pallet plant and subsequently be deployed as operators in the same unit.

Executive Director Mr. S. Venkateswaran, who flagged off the first batch of trainees, in a ceremony held at Lloyds Skill Development and Training Centre, Konsari, emphasized the company’s commitment to nurturing local talent and providing them with opportunities for career advancement. He expressed his confidence in the candidates’ ability to excel in their new roles and contribute to the success of the pallet plant.

LMEL’s dedication to empowering local youth is evident in its various training programs aimed at making them self-sufficient. By providing these opportunities, the company is contributing to the overall development of the Gadchiroli region, said Mr. Venkateswaran.
