Gadchiroli Aug. 3 (District Correspondent) Citizens in the district are suffering due to potholes on the roads due to rain. The National Highways, Public Works Department and the Construction Department of the Zilla Parishad should immediately repair the roads, instructed the Food and Drug Administration Minister Dharma Rao Baba Atram today and directed to blacklist the contractors who have not completed the works within the prescribed time and file criminal charges against them.

Mr. Atram reviewed the development works in Aheri constituency today in the auditorium of the Collectorate. District Collector Sanjay Daine,  former ZP chief Bhagyashree Atram, Aheri SDO Aditya Jiwne, RDC Sunil Suryavanshi, Additional CEO Rajendra Bhuyar, District Planning Officer Pachkawade were present on this occasion.

Roads and bridges have been damaged due to recent heavy rains and floods in the district. Alapalli, Lagam, Markanda, Khamanpur, Ashti, Bhamragarh, Sironcha, Repanpalli roads may pose a threat to the lives of citizens, so the potholes on these roads should be filled immediately. The forest department has also given permission for the construction of the national highway from Lagan to Alapalli, so the road construction work here should start without giving any reasons.

Due to incomplete road constructions, the district is being brought into disrepute and no negligence will be tolerated in this regard, Atram warned. He also instructed to complete the construction of the Blood Bank building at Aheri immediately and submit a proposal for the permission of the Food and Drug Administration Department to start the blood bank as funds of Rs.1.70 crores have been sanctioned for this.

Mr.  Atram gave instructions for appointing teachers in schools till August 15 to provide good education to children in Pesa area, providing quality food to students under mid-day meal scheme and recruiting medical officers and other staff in primary health centres, repairing solar systems of water supply scheme, opening the 1200 MT buffer stock of fertilizer at Sironcha for the farmers, completing Panchnama of damage due to rain and flood immediately etc.

Collector Sanjay Daine gave instructions to check the technical aspects while doing the road construction works and carry out quality works. Civil surgeon Dr. Pramod Khandate, DHO Dr. Pratap Shinde, District Water Supply Officer Prakash Patil, Executive Engineer of PWD Sakharwade, Senate Member Tanushree Atram, Ravindra Wasekar, Leeladhar Bharadkar were present in the meeting.
