Gadchiroli June 15 (District Correspondent) Gadchiroli Police Force organized a blood donation camp on the occasion of World Blood Donor Day under ‘Project Udaan’ through its Police Dadalora Khidki initiative the other day.

The camps were organized at 3 places in collaboration with District General Hospital Blood Bank and Sub-District Hospital Aheri. For the first time, surrendered Maoists also registered enthusiastic participation in this camp. A total of 330 blood donors donated blood in the camp held at Police Headquarters Gadchiroli, Sub-Headquarters Pranhita and Sub-Divisional Police Officer’s Office, Sironcha.

World Blood Donor Day to create awareness about the need, demand of blood and to express gratitude to blood donors. In this blood donation camp, DySP (Campaign) Vishal Nagargoje, SDPO Aheri Ajay Kokate, SDPO Sironcha Sandesh Naik, as well as officers and employees of various government departments, police officers and officials of Gadchiroli Police Force, CRPF, SRPF, along with citizens from police posts, sub-posts, participated enthusiastically and a total of 330 blood donors donated blood.

During the blood donation camp, SP Nilotpal said that a total of 2800 units of blood have been donated so far during the various blood donation camps organized by the Gadchiroli Police Force in the past year. Blood donation gives us an opportunity to repay the debt of the society in which we live. Also, as a responsible member of the society, we all need to donate blood at least once in three months. He appealed to everyone to take the initiative for blood donation.

On this occasion, officers, employees and surrendered Maoist members who participated in blood donation were given certificates by Mr. Nilotpal. The blood donation camp was organized by Additional SP (Campaign) M. Ramesh, Additional SP (Administration) Satya Sai Karthik, District Surgeon General Hospital, Dr. Madhuri Kilnake, DySP Campaign, Vishal Nagargoje, SDPO Gadchiroli, Suraj Jagtap, Chief Medical Officer, Police Hospital Dr. Sunil Madavi were present.

For the success of this program, all the Sub-Divisional Police Officers, Officers-in-Charge of Posts,Sub-Posts, Police Assistance Centres as well as Civil Action Branch Officer Dhananjay Patil, Chandrakant Shelke, Officer-in-Charge of Police Welfare Branch Officer Narendra Piwal, Officer-in-Charge of Public Relations Branch Officer Pratik Bhadane and officials of all branches as well as the entire team of District General Hospital, Gadchiroli worked tirelessly.
