Gadchiroli Jan. 11 (District Correspondent) Three youths were killed on the spot in a horrific accident where a speeding two-wheeler collided with a truck coming from the opposite direction.
The accident took place on the Gadchiroli-Chandrapur road near Murkhala village around 8 to 9 pm on Tuesday. The names of the deceased youths are Akshay Dasarath Pendam (23), Ajit Raghu Sadmek (23), Amol Ashok Arka (20), all residents of Govindgaon in Aheri taluka.
According to the eyewitnesses, on January 9 around 8 pm, Akshay, Ajith and Amol were speeding towards Gadchiroli on a newly bought two-wheeler. Meanwhile, his bike collided with a truck coming from the opposite direction at a turning near Murkhala village. All the three died on the spot.
The accident was so severe that the bike broke into two pieces. The deceased youth was a resident of Govindgaon in Aheri taluka. It is also known that the deceased youths were relatives of each other.
The bodies of all the three youths were handed over to their relatives after postmortem the next morning. Further investigations are underway into the case.
