3 persons killed, 3 injured in wall collapse at Armori.

Gadchiroli Aug. 8 (District Correspondent) As many as 3 persons were killed on the spot and 3 others injured as they were trapped under the debris of a wall of the Hero Show Room that collapsed all of a sudden at around 4.30 pm today.

The deceased have been identified as Tehseen Sheikh (30), resident of Wadsa, Afsan Sheikh (32), also a resident of Wadsa and Akash Burande, resident of Nilaj.

The names of the injured have been given as Saurabh Chaudhary, resident of Mendki (district Chandrapur), Vilas Mane (50) and Deepak Meshram (23), both the resident of Armori.

The two of the deceased were the customers who had gone to the show room for repairing their two wheelers while the remaining were the workers working at the show room, it is understood.

The building housing the Hero company’s show room is located on the Nagpur Road near Bhagat Singh chouk. As the staff members and some visitors were engaged in their work, a wall of the back portion of the building suddenly collapsed and they were caught under the debris. Before any help could be reached, 3 of them were killed on the spot.

On getting information, police reached the spot and took the bodies of the dead ones out of debris. Those injured have been admitted in Rural Hospital, Armori.

Soon after knowing the incident, Armori MLA Ramdas Masram reached the spot and gave necessary instructions. The senior government officers also visited the spot and supervised the situation. A large number of people also rushed to the spot on getting information of the incident.

This is another tragedy that took place in the district on the second consecutive day. Yesterday itself, as many as 4 students from village Katli were killed as they were run over by a speeding truck on Gadchiroli Armori road.
