3 naxalites killed in encounter, arms recovered.

Gadchiroli May 13 (District Correspondent) As many as 3 naxalites were killed in an encounter that took place between the police and the naxals in the forest area near Katrangatta village in Bhamragad Taluka this morning, said the police here today.

According to Mr. Nilitpal, SP, a credible information was received today morning that some members of Perimili Dalam are camping in forest area near Katrangatta village in Bhamragad Taluka with an aim to carry out subversive activities during ongoing TCOC period.

Accordingly, two units of anti -naxal C-60 squad led by Addnl SP (Operations) Yatish Deshmukh were immediately despatched for the area search. While the teams were doing area search operation, they were fired indiscriminately by the Naxals, which was retaliated strongly by the C- 60 teams.

After the firing stopped and area was searched, 1 male and 2 female naxal dead bodies were recovered from the spot of the firing. The arms including 3 automatic weapons – 1 AK47, 1 Carbine and 1 INSAS, naxal literature and belongings have also been recovered from the firing spot.

One of the dead naxals has been identified as Vasu who was the DVCM Incharge and Commander of Perimili Dalam. The identification of other members is being ascertained.

Further search and anti- naxal operations are underway in the area.
