1300 employees participate in Lloyds Company’s marathon.

Gadchiroli Dec. 4 (District Correspondent) A mini marathon competition was organized by Lloyds Metals and Energy Limited, Surjagad at village Hedri in Etapalli taluka the other day.

The marathon was flagged off by Padma Shri Dr. Parashuram Khune and Mr.  B. Prabhakaran, Managing Director of Lloyds Metals and Energy Ltd.

in his speech, Dr. Khune said organizing a mini marathon competition by Lloyds Metals is a great idea. The purpose of the competition is to increase health awareness among the employees and their families. The marathon competition is organized with the aim of creating a new enthusiasm among the youth. Everyone should participate in this competition and try to improve their health, he appealed. Dr. Khune thanked the Managing Director Prabhakaran for setting up such a big iron project in Surjagad and providing opportunities to the unemployed people.

As many as 1300 employees of all the companies attached to Lloyds Metals, both male and female, between the ages of 18 and 55 years participated. T-shirt were distributed to all the employees participating in the mini marathon competition on the occasion of the competition.

The marathon competition was organized from CSR Complex Hedri to Iron Project Surjagad Company at a distance of 5 km. Glucose and fruits were given to the participating competitors on the marathon route. The program was headed by Ms. Arunatai Sadmek, Sarpanch of Pursalgondi, Rakesh Kavdo, Dy. Sarpanch of Pursalgondi, Vanitatai Korami, Sarpanch of Todsa, Nevluji Patil Gawade, Sarpanch of Nagulwadi, Vinod Narote, Gram Panchayat Member, C. Kumresan, S. Venkateswaran, Sai Kumar, Bholubhau Somnani, Sanjay Changlani were prominently present.

The winners of the competition were felicitated with shields, medals and prizes. Along with this, K. Satyarao Sir, who has been serving Lloyds Metal and Energy Limited Company for 27 years, was felicitated with shawl and coconut as he announced his retirement.

During the prize distribution program, Mr. Prabhakaran expressed his feelings that all the male and female employees of his company participated in the marathon competition organized by Lloyds which is a matter of great pride. He said that in future, he always intends to organize such competitions to bring positivity, enthusiasm in the local community and provide a great platform for the youth of this area. We all need to work together, I need the support of my people, he added.

The program was coordinated by Mr. Saurav Walia and the vote of thanks was given by Ms. Janvi Shende.
