
Gadchiroli Jan. 12 (District Correspondent) A blood donation camps were organized by the police department to mark the Maharashtra Police Foundation Day and Raising Day recently at the Pandu Alam Hall at Police Headquarters Gadchiroli, as well as at the Sub-Headquarters Pranhita, Sub-Divisional Police Officer’s Office, Sironcha and Police Station Desaiganj under Dadalora Khidki programme.
A total of 1138 blood donors donated their blood in these camps. The Superintendent of Police Mr. Nilotpal, Additional SP (Campaign) Yatish Deshmukh, Additional SP Aheri Shrenik Lodha, DYSP (Campaign) Vishal Nagargoje, SDPO Aheri Ajay Kokate, SDPO Sironcha Sandesh Naik, SDPO Kurkheda Ravindra Bhosale, along with officers and employees of various government departments, police officers and employees of Gadchiroli Police Force, CRPF, SRPF, citizens from various police stations, sub police stations donated their blood voluntarily
Gadchiroli Police Force has organized two blood donation camps so far, in which a total of 1631 donors donated their blood. 1071 donors donated blood on Police Memorial Day on 21 October 2023 and 560 on World Blood Donor Day on 14 June 2024.
During the blood donation camp, Superintendent of Police Nilotpal emphasized the importance of blood donation and said that there is no alternative to human blood. Blood donation gives us an opportunity to repay the debt of the society in which we live. Also, as a responsible part of the society, it is the need of the hour for all of us to donate blood, he stated.
Mr. Nilotpal appealed to take the initiative to motivate the relatives and friends to participate as blood donors. By donating blood, we get the satisfaction of saving and helping the life of a patient, he said.
Along with this, the Mobile Health Clinic Ambulance, jointly sponsored by Shalinitai Meghe Hospital and Research Centre, Tribal Welfare Community, Jeevan Aadhar Multipurpose Organization and Rotary Club Nagpur was flagged off by Mr. Nilotpal. This Mobile Health Clinic Ambulance will be sent to public awareness meetings and health fairs to check the health of citizens in remote and ultra-remote areas and during the check-up, those citizens who need surgery will be taken to Nagpur by this Mobile Health Clinic and treated in their hospital. Also, citizens will now be provided with the facility of health check-up at their nearest police stations through this Mobile Health Clinic.
Dr. Madhuri Kilnake, District Surgeon, Dr. Rajiv Varbhe, Dr. Pratiksha Mayi, Dr. Obed Oman, Mr. Ashwin Radke, Jeevan Jawanjal, Ravindra Watole, Sunil Madavi were present during the blood donation camps.
For the success of the blood donation camp program the police officers and jawans took necessary pains. Mr. Dhananjay Patil of Civic Action Programme, Chandrakant Shelke, Officer-in-Charge of Police Welfare Branch, Narendra Piwal and Officer-in-Charge of Propaganda and Public Relations Shivraj Lokhande, Pratik Bhadane and all the staff as well as the entire team of District General Hospital Gadchiroli worked tirelessly.
